What do I need to cook a kit?

You will need the kit, the ingredients in the shopping list, and basic cooking utensils. The recipes are all made with the first timer to Indian cuisine in mind and have been tested.

How does your shipping work?

Depending on where you live and the shipping method you choose, you will generally receive your order within nine business days. We recommend that you place your order two weeks in advance. We never make money on shipping and handling.

We offer USPS, Fedex and UPS as shipping options. Once orders are shipped, the estimated delivery times for ground shipment are 2-3 days by First-Class mail and Priority Mail for most addresses in the United States, and 2-9 days by Parcel Post. 

What is your Returns Policy?

If your shipment arrives with damaged product, please contact us at customerservice at veenasmarket.com within two weeks of receiving your shipment. We will gladly refund you or send a replacement. Returns for other reasons will be accepted within 30 days of receipt, and you will be responsible for the return shipment. You can opt to get either an exchange or a refund.

I can’t eat food that is too spicy. Will I be able to handle your kits?

We think so! We now show the spice level for each kit on the product page. While the spices in our kits are meant to be flavorful, they are not excessively hot. Spices that are hot, such as chili powder, are included in a separate packet. You can choose to add it to the recipe or not use it at all. Green chilies in the shopping list are recommended, but always optional. On the other hand, if you like your food hot, go ahead and add more green chilies than the recipe calls for, or use up all the chili powder you are given!

How long can I store the kits?

Even though spices don't expire, it is recommended that you use the product within six months of purchase.  We buy whole spices and blend them just before packing. This way the spices and the blends that you receive are as fresh and flavorful as possible. 

I am allergic or intolerant to certain foods. How can I check if a kit is safe for me?

Please check the ingredient list as well as the shopping list in the description section of each kit before your purchase. You can also use the icons on the product as a guide. 

We currently do not use any ingredients that contain wheat or gluten. 

Can I recycle the packaging?

Please do! We do our best to keep our packaging to a minimum, and where possible, to use materials with post-consumer recycled content. The outer plastic bags are recyclable. 

Are the ingredients organic?

About 85% of our spices are organic and a few are fairtrade. We continue to search for organic suppliers for our remaining ingredients. Our goal is to ultimately have organic and fairtrade sources for all our ingredients. 

Can I buy your kit in a grocery store?

At the moment you can only order kits on our website at VeenasMarket.com. If you would like to find our products at your local grocer  or any other locations, we always welcome your suggestions at customerservice at veenasmarket.com.

Can I share your recipes with my  friends?

Of course! Please feel free to save your recipes to use again or to share with your family and friends. Just be sure to let them know you got it from Veena's Market!

Do you ship outside of the US? 

Currently we only ship to addresses within the United States. 

Do you cater to events?

Please send us an email at events at veenasmarket.com with your event details and we will let you know if we can work with you on your event. See here for information on cooking lessons. 

What other cuisines will you offer in the future?

While we continue building on our offering of Indian kits, we plan to expand into other cuisines. We are working on many other recipes right now and will announce upcoming kit releases on the website and in the newsletter!
