What do I need to cook a kit?

You will need the kit, the ingredients in the shopping list, and basic cooking utensils. You don’t need prior experience with any of the cuisines. The recipes are all made with the novice in mind and have been tested by those new to these recipes.

How does your shipping work?

Depending on where you live and the shipping method you choose, you will generally receive your order within nine business days. We recommend that you place your order two weeks in advance. We never make money on shipping and handling.

We are currently only shipping via USPS in order to keep shipping costs low. Once orders are shipped, the estimated delivery times are 2-3 days by First-Class mail and Priority Mail for most addresses in the United States, and 2-9 days by Parcel Post. 

I can’t eat food that is too spicy. Will I be able to handle your kits?

We think so! While the spices in our kits are meant to be flavorful, they are not excessively hot. Spices that are hot, such as chili powder, are included in a separate packet. You can choose to add it to the recipe or not use it at all. Green chilies in the shopping list are recommended, but always optional. On the other hand, if you like your food hot, go ahead and add more green chilies than the recipe calls for, or use up all the chili powder you are given!

Can I use the kits even after the expiration date?

Generally, the answer is yes. We recommend you use the product by the date on the packet to ensure maximum flavor. Even though spices don't expire, it is recommended that you use them within a year. In order to account for the time when spices are harvested at the source to when they’re used in our products, ideally the kits should be consumed within six months of purchase. Because we do not have a large inventory, we prefer to make the kits as fresh as possible before filling orders. 

I am allergic or intolerant to certain foods. How can I check if a kit is safe for me?

Please check the ingredient list as well as the shopping list in the description section of each kit. 

Can I recycle the packaging?

Please do! We do our best to keep our packaging to a minimum, and where possible, to use materials with post-consumer recycled content. The plastic bags which contain the food are not made with recycled plastic as per FDA regulations. They are however recyclable. 

Are the ingredients organic?

Most of our spices are organic. We continue to search for organic suppliers for our remaining ingredients. Our goal is to ultimately have organic and fair trade sources for all our ingredients. 

Can I buy your kit in a grocery store?

At the moment you can only order kits on our website at VeenasMarket.com. If you would like to find our products at your local grocer  or any other locations, we always welcome your suggestions at customerservice at veenasmarket.com.

Can I buy spices only?

We are considering offering individual spices and custom spice blends in addition to our recipe kits. If you are interested in such offerings, please contact us at customerservice at veenasmarket.com.

Can I share your recipes with my  friends?

 Of course! Please feel free to save your recipes to use again or to share with your family and friends. Just be sure to let them know you got it from Veena's Market!

Do you ship outside of the US? 

Currently we only ship to addresses within the United States. 

Do you cater to events?

What other cuisines will you offer in the future?

While we continue building on our offering of Indian kits, we plan to expand into other cuisines. We are working on many other recipes right now and will announce upcoming kit releases on the website and in the newsletter! What is your Returns Policy?

A product that arrives damaged can be returned within two weeks of receipt, and we will reimburse your shipping costs. Returns for other reasons will be accepted within 30 days of receipt, and you will be responsible for the return shipment. You can opt to get either an exchange or a refund.
